Heavenly Father, thank you for this glorious day in your creation. As we cast for fish, let us cast the Gospel message to catch the hearts of men. As we find the fish, let us find men in need of God. We don’t always catch, and not every man will respond, but it is our job to keep fishing. If we don’t cast, we won’t catch. May the fish be drawn to our lures and let fishermen be drawn by you to our message of the gospel. Although we are always looking for the next biggest catch, we know that nothing satisfies like Jesus. Help us follow the path you have laid out for us and keep our minds on things above.
Over and over it is evident that the Lord provides. The Lord provided a way for Jonah to reach people even when he wasn’t willing through a huge fish. The Lord provided a coin in a fishes mouth for taxes when they had none. The Lord provided for a crowd of thousands through a few fish and loaves of bread from a child – he blessed and multiplied! The Lord provided for the great catch of fish where the nets were bursting at the seams! Fishermen are Gods chosen people. He will work through all of us for his Glory.
